These handmade books by JoAnne Schiavone are created with up-cycled wood pieces, found images, fabric, acid-free papers and handmade papers and stitched with waxed linen thread. A vintage button and waxed linen thread keep it closed.
The binding style is the Coptic Stitch; a traditional link stitch from the 5th century which allows the book to open flat. Signed and dated by the artist.
