These handmade books by JoAnne Schiavone are created with up-cycled wood pieces, found images, fabric, acid-free papers and hand-painted paste papers, vintage buttons and handmade papers and stitched with waxed linen thread. The binding style is the Coptic Stitch; a traditional stitch from the 5th century which allows the book to open flat.
